Surrey Police
Service (SPS) is Surrey’s new municipal police agency. On November 29, 2024,
SPS became the police of jurisdiction, and assumed responsibility and command
for policing and law enforcement in Surrey. SPS is working to redefine policing

POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey
Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator
to join our Training and
Development Division, within the Corporate Services
Bureau. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating facilities maintenance and repairs
requests, as well as planning and overseeing facilities related projects. Duties
include monitoring project timelines and budgets, ensuring the timely
completion of work orders, and preparing related documentation and reports. The
position also provides supervision and direction to staff and requires the
exercise of considerable independent judgment within established policies and
procedures.
Schedule / Hours of Work
The anticipated
schedule for this position is Monday to Friday (35 hours/week). This is an
onsite position and requires manual work at both SPS Headquarters and district
office locations. Please note, the hours are subject to change based on
operational needs and adherence to the Collective Agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Plans, coordinates and monitors maintenance
and repair requests.
•
Plans, coordinates and monitors facilities
related projects.
•
Plans, coordinates, monitors and supports
space planning and office logistics.
•
Assists in preparation of and monitors
related budgets and escalates issues as needed.
•
Plans, schedules and supervises the work of
junior staff.
•
Provides direction to others.
•
Reviews work and ensures compliance with work
orders and project scope.
•
Ensures compliance with applicable safety
codes and regulations.
•
Verifies and confirms vendor invoices and
forwards to management for processing.
•
Ensures purchase requisitions are complete
and approved by management.
•
Develops, reconciles and maintains
documentation including a variety of reports and records.
•
Participates in facility planning meetings,
and tracks project timelines and deliverables.
•
Provides regular updates and information to
others including management.
•
Provides information to and liaises with
various internal and external contacts including vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
•
Coordinates building security needs for
contractors.
•
Makes recommendations related to the work as
needed.
•
Assists other staff in performing their
duties.
•
Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
·
Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by a
Diploma in a related field.

A minimum of four years experience in
facilities operations, building operations or property management.
·
An equivalent acceptable combination of
education, training and experience may be considered.
·
All
applicants must obtain and maintain the required police security clearance
throughout their employment with SPS.

The compensation range is $38.98 to $43.77 per hour (pay grade 22) based on 2024 rates.
