POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Major Case File Manager to join our Specialized Operations Division, within the Investigative Services Bureau. Reporting to Senior Management, the Major Case File Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of Major Case File Administrators (MCFAs) by leading, supporting and mentoring staff in the Crime Analysis Section. The incumbent is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, prioritizing workloads, and providing coaching and mentorship to the MCFAs. Ensure all disclosure packages comply with legal standards, policies, and case law. Conducts quality assurance audits to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
Schedule / Hours of Work
The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, based on a 37.5 hour week. Please note, the hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures to deliver court information services and support the team’s alignment with legal standards. This position develops training materials, creates reports, and customizes databases in compliance with business rules to meet operational needs. The incumbent will also design and develop project plans, workflows, ensuring data accuracy and compliant with legal standards.
Our successful candidate will handle performance management, including scheduling, performance reviews, recruitment, and staff development. They will collaborate with law enforcement and Crown Counsel to maintain best practices and compliant with Major Case Management disclosure processes.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders. You will have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, a proven ability to research, understand, and synthesize data with strong attention to detail, along with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, be able to work independently, take initiative and exercise good judgment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a Degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of related experience including at least two years of supervisory experience.
- This position requires both SPS Security Clearance and RCMP Reliability Status. All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police security clearance throughout their employment with SPS, which includes a mandatory polygraph examination.

- The salary range is $104,807 - $123,302 (M2 Pay Band) based on 2024 rates.
