POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Production Coordinator to join our Communications Section, within the Office of the Chief Constable. This position will be responsible for capturing and editing video and photographic content to support a range of SPS communications, ensuring alignment with the SPS brand. The role includes producing content for social media, recruitment, training, and internal initiatives, as well as developing storyboards, editing materials, and maintaining media archives.
Schedule / Hours of Work
The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm with availability to work alternate days/hours on occasion for special events or circumstances. Please note, the hours are subject to change based on operational needs and adherence to the Collective Agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates video and photo content for social media, police training, recruitment campaigns, livestream productions, internal communications, and other initiatives.
- Coordinates and produces video content to support SPS projects and organizational priorities.
- Provides photographic support for internal requests and initiatives.
- Develops storyboards and scripts and edits video and photo content to meet project objectives.
- Maintains organized photo libraries and video archives in SharePoint.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of videography and photography principles including composition, lighting, sound, and use of equipment such as cameras, lenses, and flashes.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Audition, or comparable professional video editing software.
- Strong technical skills in video production, photography, and photo editing.
- Skilled in writing, filming, and editing video content using basic effects.
- Ability to set up, configure, and operate video and production equipment.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment of varying weights as required.
- Proficient in developing concepts and storyboards to support communication goals.
- Ability to take initiative and provide creative direction while capturing photo and video content.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in various environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in visual journalism, filmmaking, videography, photography, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police security clearance throughout their employment with SPS, which includes a mandatory polygraph examination.

- The salary range is $36.72/hour - $40.60/hour (pay grade 20) based on 2024 rates.
