POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Regular Full-Time Records Clerk 2 to join our Information Management and Technology Division, within the Corporate Services Bureau. Reporting the Records Team Manager, the incumbent performs entry level clerical and data entry work utilizing Surrey Police Service (SPS) electronic data systems.
Schedule / Hours of Work
The anticipated schedule for this position is 35 hours per week. The Records Division is a 24 hour and 7-day operation including holidays and weekend. This is an in-office position with currently no option for remote work.
Shifts are prescheduled and will be a combination of the following 10 hr shifts, which are leveled to ensure 70 hours over 2-week period:
- 7:00 am to 5:30 pm
- 5:30 pm to 4:00 am
- 8:30 pm to 7:00 am
Please note, the hours are subject to change based on operational need and adherence to the Collective Agreement
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews, enters, modifies, and removes information from files using SPS electronic data systems.
- Reviews and processes police files utilizing SPS information systems.
- Performs scanning duties.
- Inputs accurate information and details from hard copy files.
- Opens and distributes correspondence.
- Files documents and correspondence.
- Provides information to other staff in regard to information contained in the SPS electronic data systems.
- Assists other staff in performing their duties.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Grade 12, plus one year's experience and/or training in a computerized office environment.
- Typing speed of 45 wpm.
- All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police clearance throughout their employment with SPS. This role also requires RCMP Reliability Status (security clearance).

- The salary range is $28.43/hour - $30.12/hour (pay grade 09) based on 2024 rates.
