On November 29, 2024, SPS became the police of jurisdiction, and assumed responsibility and command for policing and law enforcement in Surrey. POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for an auxiliary Records Clerk 2 to join our Information Management and Technology Division, within the Corporate Services Bureau. Reporting to the Records Team Manager, the incumbent performs entry level clerical and data entry work utilizing Surrey Police Service (SPS) and external agency electronic data systems.
Please note this is an in-office position with currently no option for remote work. Requires shift work in a 24/7 operation with extended hours. The anticipated work schedule for full-time position is 35 hours per week, however the hours are subject to change based on operational need and adherence to the Collective Agreement. Please note, full-time hours are not guaranteed for this auxiliary position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews, enters, modifies, and removes information from files using SPS electronic data systems.
- Reviews and processes police files utilizing SPS information systems.
- Performs scanning duties.
- Inputs accurate information and details from hard copy files.
- Opens and distributes correspondence.
- Files documents and correspondence.
- Provides information to other staff in regard to information contained in the SPS electronic data systems.
- Assists other staff in performing their duties.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Grade 12, plus one year's experience and/or training in a computerized office environment.
- Typing speed of 45 wpm.
- This position requires both SPS Security Clearance and RCMP Reliability Status. All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police security clearance throughout their employment with SPS, which includes a mandatory polygraph examination.

- The salary range is $28.43/hour - $30.12/hour (pay grade 9) based on 2024 rates.
