POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Regular Full-Time Records Clerk 4 to join our Information Management and Technology Division, within the Corporate Services Bureau. Reporting to the Records Team Manager, the incumbent performs complex file processing work utilizing Surrey Police Service (SPS) and external agency electronic data systems.
Schedule / Hours of Work
Please note this is an in-office position with currently no option for remote work. Requires shift work in a 24/7 operation with extended hours. The anticipated work schedule for full-time position is 35 hours per week, however the hours are subject to change based on operational need and adherence to the Collective Agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs data collection, advanced scoring, data entry, and retrieval using SPS and external agency electronic data systems.
- Inputs accurate information and details from files.
- Reviews, adds, modifies, and deletes information from complex files and forwards general occurrences to the appropriate sections and/or concludes files based on predetermined criteria.
- Maintains other SPS and external agency electronic data systems as required.
- Responsible for monitoring and responding to the CPIC original messaging operator. Adds, modifies, removes, and confirms warrants and other documents.
- Performs audits on SPS and external agency record entries and ensures quality control of information entered.
- Coordinates the work of and trains other records staff.
- Provides information to staff and agencies regarding SPS policies and procedures.
- Maintains systems pertaining to filing, records, and database.
- Assists other staff in performing their duties.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by in-house courses relevant to the SPS records system currently in use.
- Three years of progressively responsible and diversified records experience.
- Typing speed 45 wpm.
- All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police clearance throughout their employment with SPS. This role also requires RCMP Reliability Status (security clearance).

- The salary range is $31.97/hour - $34.75/hour (pay grade 15) based on 2024 rates.
